March 18, 2024 — Best Buy recalled 187,400 Insignia® Air Fryers and Air Fryer Ovens that can overheat, melt, catch on fire, and cause burns or laceration injuries.
When these air fryers overheat, the handles can melt or break, causing burn injuries. The glass on the door of the air fryer ovens may also shatter, posing laceration hazards.
This recall involves approximately 300,000 air fryers in the U.S. and Canada, including about 187,400 air fryers that were sold in the U.S. and another 99,900 air fryers sold in Canada.
Best Buy also recalled another 635,000 Insignia Air Fryers back in April 2022, after about 100 reports of overheating, fires, and burn injuries, including a child who was burned on their leg.
Best Buy is urging customers to stop using these air fryers and visit the recall website at https://www.recallrtr.com/airfryer to register for a full refund.
