PowerXL Air Fryers Recalled for Fire & Burn Hazards
In December 2023, about 319,000 PowerXL Dual-Basket Air Fryers were recalled due to a burn hazard. These air fryers were sold at stores like Walmart, Target, Kohl’s, and more since 2021.
What Is the Problem?
The PowerXL Dual-Basket Air Fryers have two baskets that can be used separately or optionally combined into one larger single basket. Between these two baskets is a plastic U-shaped connector. The problems is that this connector can break, posing a burn hazard.
How Many People Were Injured?
There were 41 reports of the PowerXL Air Fryer breaking during use, including 3 reports of people who suffered burn injuries.
Where Were They Sold?
The recalled PowerXL Air Fryers were sold from August 2021 through October 2023 at Target, Walmart, Kohl’s, other stores and online.
The recall only involves dual-basket air fryers with model numbers DUAF-10 Vortex Dual-Basket Air Fryer (10-qt.) and DUAF-005 Vortex Dual-Basket Air Fryer (9 qt).
What Should I Do?
Empower Brands is asking customers to immediately stop using the recalled air fryers, cut the cord, and take a photo to get a refund.
