Best Buy Recalls 772,000 Air Fryers for Fire, Burn Hazard
In April 2022, Best Buy recalled about 772,000 Insignia Air Fryers in the U.S. and Canada after more than 100 reports of them catching on fire, overheating, melting, or causing injuries. Two people were injured, including a child who was hurt on their leg.

What is the Problem?
Best Buy recalled the air fryers because they can overheat, posing fire and burn injury hazards. There were 68 reports in the U.S. and 36 reports in Canada of the air fryers catching on fire, burning or melting. There were 7 reports of property damage and 2 injuries reported.
Was My Air Fryer Recalled?
The recall involves Insignia Digital Air Fryers, Insignia Analog Air Fryers, and Insignia Digital Air Fryer Ovens.
The products are labeled with the following model numbers: NS-AF32DBK9, NS-AF32MBK9, NS-AF50MBK9, NS-AF53DSS0, NS-AF53MSS0, NS-AF55DBK9, NS-AFO6DBK1 and NS-AFO6DSS1.
The air fryers and air fryer ovens have cooking chamber capacities ranging from approximately 3.4 to 10 quarts, and plastic or plastic and stainless-steel bodies in black and stainless-steel finishes.
They were sold at Best Buy stores nationwide and online at www.bestbuy.com, www.eBay.com and www.google.com from November 2018 through February 2022 for between $30 and $150.
