December 10, 2025 — Hudson River Foods Corp. has announced a recall for Doughy-brand Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough that may be contaminated with Salmonella.
The cookie dough is manufactured and sold as a ready-to-eat product, unlike other types of cookie dough that are intended to be cooked before they are eaten. That means if the product is contaminated with Salmonella, there is no cooking process to kill the bacteria.
The FDA posted an Enforcement Report to announce the Class 1 recall, which is the most serious type of recall for foods that are contaminated with bacteria.
No illnesses were reported, but infections with Salmonella can become serious or even life-threatening, especially for young children, frail or elderly adults, and those with vulnerable immune systems.
Customers should check their refrigerators for the product, which has a Best By/Expiration Date of July 4, 2026.
The product was distributed in Texas, New York, Pennsylvania, Florida, New Jersey, Illinois, Montana, California, Massachusetts, Ohio, Arizona, Oregon, North Carolina, Maryland, and Colorado.
