Del Monte Vegetable Trays Linked to Cyclospora Outbreak
July 5, 2018 — The CDC reported 212 confirmed cases of Cyclospora infections in Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan since May 16. Seven people have been hospitalized. No deaths were reported. Most people said they bought the trays at Kwik Trip convenience stores.

Cyclospora Food Poisoning
The parasite Cyclospora is naturally found in water and it can cause intestinal illness in people. The illness can last for months unless the infection is properly diagnosed and treated.
Symptoms of Cyclospora Infection
Cyclospora parasite infections can cause symptoms within days or weeks. The most common symptom is diarrhea that is frequent, watery, and often explosive. Other symptoms include loss of appetite, weight loss, cramping, bloating, increased gas, nausea, fatigue, and sometimes vomiting or a low-grade fever.
