DEWALT Propane Heaters Recalled for Fire & Burn Risk
In April 2025, Enerco recalled 21,250 DEWALT 70,0000 BTU Outdoor Portable Cordless Forced-Air Propane Heaters from Lowe’s because they can overheat, posing fire and burn hazards.
What is the Problem?
The DEWALT propane heaters were recalled because the instructions can cause consumers to incorrectly depress the start button too quickly and prevent the fan from starting, causing the heaters to overheat.
The problem poses a fire hazard and a risk of burn injuries. No injuries were reported, but there were 11 reports of overheating, according to the recall.
How To Identify Recalled DEWALT Propane Heaters
This recall involves DEWALT 70,000 BTU Outdoor Portable Cordless Forced-Air Propane Heaters with Model Number DXH70CFAVX.
The heaters are yellow and black. The model number is located on the hang tag. The name “DEWALT” is on the side of the unit.
They were sold exclusively at Lowe’s stores nationwide and online at lowes.com from May 2024 through January 2025 for about $200.
Can I Get a Refund?
No. Instead of a refund, customers will be offered a new Instruction Sheet and a warning sticker that reads:
“WARNING: Ensure that the blower fan is on prior to pressing the gas/igniter valve to light the heater.”
Can I Get New Instructions?
The new DEWALT Propane Heater Instructions will include steps to turn the blower fan on, and verify that the fan located on the back of the heater is operating.
When the Green LED Light is illuminated solid green and the fan is operating, the heater is ready for operation.
After the blower fan has started, you must follow instruction to ignite the heater, making sure the blower fan is operating.
