In May 2024, DR Power recalled about 57,200 walk-behind leaf blowers and leaf vacuums due to an injury hazard.
What is the Problem?
DR recalled the leaf blowers and vacuums because pieces from inside the unit can come loose and be ejected, posing a laceration hazard to users and bystanders. No injuries were reported, but DR said it received 22 reports of loose pieces being ejected from the units.
How To Identify Recalled Leaf Blowers
This recall includes certain DR Walk-Behind Leaf Blowers and Vacuums, and Tow-Behind Leaf Vacuums (LL3 and LL2). The recalled model numbers can be found on the recall website: https://www.lvtbrc.com/.
Where Were They Sold?
The recalled leaf blowers and vacuums were sold nationwide from September 2014 through January 2024 for between $1,300 and $4,000. They have the name “DR” printed on the motor housing.
What Should I Do?
DR is urging customers to contact the company for a free dealer-installed repair. In the meantime, stop using the recalled leaf blowers and vacuums until the unit can be repaired.
