Electric Fillet Knives Recalled for Laceration Hazard
In December 2021, Scott Fetzer Consumer Brands announced a safety recall for about 43,200 American Angler Electric Fillet Knives due to a laceration hazard.
What is the Problem?
The knives were recalled because the trigger mechanism can get stuck in the “on” position, posing a laceration hazard. There were 23 reports of the trigger becoming stuck in the “on” position. No injuries were reported.
What Knives Were Recalled?
The recall involves American Angler Electric Fillet Knives, which are used as a fishing tool for filleting fish. They came in orange and black.
The recalled knives have model number 32300 (printed on the base of the handle) and the following serial numbers printed on the packaging: AEK-OB-DS-003-1, AEK-OB-DS-008-1, AMK-KM-DS-003-1, AEK-OB-RB-004-1. “American Angler” is also printed on the knife handle.
The knives were sold at Walmart, Bass Pro Shops and other retailers nationwide and online at Amazon.com between January 2019 and October 2021 for $110 to $150.
