Frigidaire Gas Ranges Recalled After 30 Burn Injuries Reported
In March 2026, Electrolux Group voluntarily recalled about 174,800 Frigidaire gas ranges after at least 30 people were burned. The recall covers approximately 169,500 units sold in the United States and 5,300 in Canada. According to the recall:
“The ovens in the ranges can experience a delayed ignition of the oven’s bake burner, posing a risk of burn hazards to users.”
What is the Problem?
The problem is that the ovens in the recalled ranges can experience a delayed ignition of the oven’s bake burner. When the bake burner ignites late, gas can accumulate before combustion occurs — and when ignition finally happens, the resulting flash can burn nearby consumers.
This defect is particularly dangerous because users typically remain in close proximity to the oven while preheating, unaware that a delayed ignition flash may occur.
How Many People Were Burned?
The CPSC and Electrolux said they were aware of 62 reports of the delayed ignition issue. Of those, 30 reports involved burn injuries. The severity of those burn injuries was not reported.
How To Identify Recalled Frigidaire Gas Ranges
The recall involves Frigidaire®, Frigidaire Gallery®, and Frigidaire Professional® gas range models with serial numbers between VF52200000 and VF54399999.
The model and serial numbers are printed on a nameplate located in the drawer beneath the oven.

The CPSC advises consumers to stop using the oven function of their range immediately. Cooktop burners may continue to be used while awaiting the repair.
