Fuentes Farms Recalls Cucumbers Sold in Texas for Salmonella

Fuentes Farms Recalls Cucumbers Sold in Texas for Salmonella

June 18, 2025 — Fuentes Farms, LLC, a produce company in McAllen, Texas, has recalled boxes of fresh cucumbers due to Salmonella.

The recall involves fresh cucumbers that were distributed in Texas by local vendors at flea markets in the McAllen and Alamo areas.

Fuentes Farms recalled 71 boxes of cucumbers, with each box weighing 40 pounds (also known as 1-1/9-bushel boxes). The boxes are cardboard with the word “Vegetables” on a black background.

The boxes are labeled with a sticker that reads “Fuentes Farm’s LLC” and Lot Number 357. The recalled boxes of cucumbers were sold at flea markets in Texas between May 31, 2025 and June 3, 2025.

The recall does not say where the recalled cucumbers were grown, but Fuentes Farms imports produce from Puebla, Mexico.

No illnesses were reported in the recall. Instead, Fuentes Farms said it issued the recall after a sample of cucumbers from Lot #357 tested positive for Salmonella during routine testing by the company.

Fuentes Farms also said the recall is “not part of any current food outbreaks.” In May 2025, a Salmonella outbreak that sickened at least 45 people was linked to cucumbers from Bedner Growers, a farm located in Florida.

Anyone who ate these recalled cucumbers should seek medical attention for symptoms of Salmonella, which may include fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting or abdominal pain.

In some cases, the infection may lead to severe complications, according to the FDA: “In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.”
