Giantex Lounge Chairs Recalled After Finger Amputation Reported
In May 2026, Giantex recalled about 1,155 outdoor lounge chairs because there is a pinch point in the adjustment mechanism that can amputate fingers.
According to the CPSC, the problem is that consumers can put their fingers into a pinch-point when they try to adjust the lounge chair. Giantex said it has received 1 report of a consumer’s finger being amputated while adjusting the chair.
What Is the Problem?
The recalled chairs have a 5-position, adjustable locking system to adjust the backrest. The backrest height can be adjusted from 13.5 inches to 26.5 inches. The CPSC warns that consumers can place their fingers in a pinch point when adjusting the chair, posing an amputation risk.
How Many People Were Injured?
Giantex said it received 1 report of a finger amputation that occurred when a person was adjusting the lounge chair’s backrest height.
A finger amputation is a permanent, life-altering injury that can require surgery, leave lasting nerve damage, and affect a person’s ability to work and perform everyday tasks.
