Kolcraft Recalls Inclined Sleeper Accessories for 51,000 Bassinets
In May 2021, Kolcraft recalled about 51,000 inclined sleeper accessories for two bassinet products due to a suffocation risk.
What Products Were Recalled?
The recall involves the inclined sleeper accessories included with the following Kolcraft bassinets:
- Kolcraft Cuddle ‘n Care 2-in-1 Bassinet & Incline Sleepers (model number starting with KB063)
- Kolcraft Preferred Position 2-in-1 Bassinet & Incline Sleepers (model number starting with KB061)
What is the Problem?
Babies can suffocate to death in inclined sleepers after rolling from their back to their stomach or side, or under other circumstances.
No injuries or incidents were reported, but the bassinet’s inclined sleeper accessory is similar to other products that are linked to dozens of infant deaths and hundreds of suffocation incidents.
Kolcraft Re-Announces Recall in May 2021
Kolcraft originally recalled the inclined sleep accessories on February 20, 2020, and re-announced the recall on May 5, 2021.
The recalled bassinets were sold nationwide from March 2011 through December 2017 for about $140.
