Magic Chef Air Fryer Recall

In October 2022, Newair recalled about 11,750 Magic Chef® Air Fryers because they can overheat, posing a burn injury risk and a fire hazard.

What is the Problem?

Air fryers work by circulating hot air around your food, with temperatures hitting up to 400ºF. If the air fryer overheats, it can burn your food or catch on fire. Anyone who touches the burning appliance can suffer serious burn injuries.

Was My Air Fryer Recalled?

The recall involves Magic Chef Digital Air Fryer ovens with model numbers MCAF56DB (black) and MCAF56DW (white). The brand “Magic Chef” is printed on the top of the fryers and the rating label on the bottom has the name Magic Chef along with the model number.

Where Were They Sold?

The recalled air fryers were sold online at Newair.com, Walmart.com, Wayfair.com, Amazon.com, and Target.com from July 2018 through September 2020 for between $115 to $138.

What Should I Do?

Newair is asking consumers to immediately stop using the recalled air fryers and contact the company to get a refund in the form of a newair.com credit. For more information, visit the recall website at https://www.newair.com/pages/newair-magic-chef-digital-air-fryer-recall.
