Secura Air Fryers Recalled for Fire Hazard
In September 2023, about 6,400 Secura Air Fryers were recalled because a wire connection can overheat and cause the air fryer to catch on fire.
What Happened?
Secura announced the recall after receiving 9 reports of the air fryers catching on fire, burning and smoking. There were no reports of injuries or property damage, but the problem poses a burn hazard.
Was My Air Fryer Recalled?
The recall involves the following Secura Air Fryers:
- Secura® Air Fryer (Black with Silver Accent): Model number SAF-53D (TXG-DT16E) with date code 1901
- Secura® Air Fryer (Black with Silver, Grey, White, or Gold Accents): Model number SAF-53 (TXG-DS16) with date codes 1903 and 1904.
Where Were They Sold?
The recalled air fryers were sold online at thesecura.com and Amazon.com from May 2019 through October 2020 for $48 to $90.
What Should I Do?
Secura has created a recall website at https://www.thesecura.com/recall/ with more information. The company is offering a free replacement or an Amazon gift card worth $45.
