September 24, 2021 — A woman from Michigan who was burned by a pressure cooker has filed a lawsuit against the manufacturer, NuWave LLC.
The plaintiff, Lindsie R., is a woman from Michigan who claims she was seriously burned by a NuWave Nutri-Pot 6Q Digital Pressure Cooker (Model Number 33101) that she bought in November 2017.
On August 20, 2021, she suffered “serious and substantial burn injuries” when she was able to easily open the lid on the pressure cooker when it was still under pressure.
Opening the lid when there was still pressure inside the pot allowed its “scalding hot contents to be forcefully ejected from the pressure cooker” and onto her body, resulting in severe burn injuries.
She blames the incident on the failure of the “Sure-Lock® Safety System,” which was advertised to keep consumers safe while using this pressure cooker.
Her Pressure Cooker Lawsuit was filed against NuWave LLC on August 29, 2021 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan — Case Number 2:21-cv-00195.
