iFIT Recalls NordicTrack Rowing Machines for Fire Hazard
In October 2025, the Utah-based company iFIT Inc. announced a voluntary recall for about 44,800 NordicTrack Rowing Machines after reports of the screen console overheating, catching on fire, smoking, melting, and causing significant property damage.
How Many Fires Were Reported?
iFIT explained that the “screen console can overheat and ignite, posing a fire hazard.” No injuries were reported, but there were 8 reports of other incidents — including 2 fires, 6 reports of smoking or melting screen consoles, and “at least $6,000 in property damage.”
Product Recall Information
The recall involves iFIT NordicTrack Rowing Machines with the following model numbers:
- NTRW19147.0
- NTRW19147.1
- NTRW19147.2
- NTRW19147.3.
How To Identify Recalled NordicTrack Rowing Machines
The recalled NordicTrack Rowing Machines have Model NTRW19147 printed on a decal attached to the base of the rower.
The machines are black, gray, and white, with the name “NordicTrack” in black letters on the front legs of the machine. The back legs have “RW900” printed in white letters.
The recall only involves an older version of NordicTrack Rowing Machines, according to iFIT:
- Older version (affected by the recall): Has a front cooling fan housing with visible vent openings below the screen console. The flywheel cover is also rounder and bulkier.
- Newer version (NOT affected by the recall): Has a sleek, enclosed front housing with no fan openings and a more compact, streamlined design.
Where Were They Sold?
The recalled NordicTrack Rowing Machines were sold in stores and online from November 2018 through April 2022 for about $1,700. They were sold nationwide at Best Buy, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Nebraska Furniture, ABT, and online at nordictrack.com and Amazon.com.
Can I Get a Refund?
No. Instead of a refund, iFIT is urging customers to register for free installation of a new screen console at https://my.ifit.com/MC/s/new-request.
The company has also set up a recall website and a FAQ page for the NordicTrack Rowing Machine recall. For more information, visit https://www.nordictrack.com/product-recalls.
