What is the Problem?
No illnesses were reported. Instead, the problem was that Bakkavor used an ingredient — Pickled Curry Cauliflower — which was recalled by Doux South Specialties LLC. In response, Bakkavor USA said it “immediately ceased production and distribution” of the product.

What is Listeria?
Listeria monocytogenes is a bacteria that can survive on foods that do not seem spoiled, including foods in the refrigerator. Infections pose a serious risk for young children, older adults, pregnant women and people with vulnerable immune systems.
Pregnant women typically experience fever and other flu-like symptoms, such as muscle aches or fatigue. Infections during pregnancy can lead to miscarriage, stillbirth, or a life-threatening infection in the newborn baby.
For non-pregnant people, the symptoms of a Listeria infection can include headache, stiff neck, convulsions, fever, muscle aches, or gastrointestinal symptoms similar to other food poisoning infections.
