October 10, 2019 — Tip Top Poultry’s expanded recall for chicken due to Listeria has spread to a wide range of ready-made foods with chicken ingredients.
The recall now involves salads, sandwiches, wraps, burritos, bowls, freeze-dried backpacker meals, soup cups, and other foods.
Tip Top Poultry recalled all fully-cooked chicken items that were produced between January 21 and September 24, 2019 at its facility in Georgia, according to the USDA Food Safety Inspection Service (FSIS).
The products were distributed to stores such as Trader Joe’s, Food Lion, KJ Market, Jersey Mike’s, IGA, Great Harvest Bread Company, BI-LO, ALDI, Kroger, Piggly Wiggly, Harris Teeter, Dillons, Food 4 Less, and more.
To identify the recalled products, consumers can look for the number “Est. P-17453” inside the USDA inspection mark on the label.
The recall involves products such as Trader Joe’s Pesto Chicken Wrap, Deli Express Chicken Salad, Market Sandwich Chicken Wraps, Resers Chicken Salad, freeze-dried Backpacker’s Pantry meals with chicken, and many more.
