“CDC recommends that people do not eat recalled chicken salad. Throw it away or return it to the place of purchase. This investigation is ongoing and we will provide updates when more information is available.”

Symptoms of Salmonella

  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Abdominal cramps
  • Diarrhea
  • Fever
  • Chills
  • Headache
  • Blood in the stool

Treatment

Infections with Salmonella cause vomiting and diarrhea, which can lead to dehydration if a person is unable to drink enough water to maintain proper fluid levels in their body. In severe cases, they may need to be hospitalized for treatment with intravenous (IV) fluids. The patient may also need anti-diarrheal medications or antibiotics.

What is the problem?

The Schmidt Firm, PLLC is nationally recognized as a class action law firm, but our lawyers are not filing a class action lawsuit for victims of this food poisoning outbreak. Instead, we are filing individual lawsuits for victims who were diagnosed with Salmoenlla after eating Triple T chicken salad from a Fareway grocery store.

About Class Actions

Class actions are typically used to help a lot of people get refunds after buying a defective product. Everyone who joins the class action shares the payout if compensation is awarded through a settlement, jury verdict, or another resolution of their legal claims.

Why Our Law Firm is Filing Individual Lawsuits as Opposed to a Class Action

Class actions can have disadvantages when individuals have far more serious injuries than an average plaintiff. They may have to accept a “low-ball” settlement or higher attorneys’ fees, for example.

Our lawyers specialize in holding companies financially accountable for causing food poisoning outbreaks. There is no excuse for failing to maintain safety standards when selling food that is consumed by thousands of people. Food poisoning outbreaks can be devastating.
