What is Campaign®?
Monsanto’s Campaign® is a broad-spectrum post-emergence herbicide for non-crop, rangeland, and industrial weed control. It contains 12.9% glyphosate, 20.6% 2,4-D, isopropylamine salt, less than 7% N-Methylpyrrolidone, and 10-20% unspecified surfactant(s).
What is the problem?
Campaign contains glyphosate, which is the same weed-killing chemical in Roundup® and dozens of other herbicides. In recent years, studies of farm-workers in the U.S., Canada, and Sweden who used glyphosate have found higher rates of non-Hodkgin’s lymphoma.
Glyphosate and Cancer
In March 2015, the World Health Organization’s International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) re-classified glyphosate as a “probable human carcinogen.” Monsanto is now facing thousands of lawsuits from people who developed cancer after using glyphosate.
$289 Million Awarded in Glyphosate Cancer Lawsuit
In August 2018, a groundskeeper who developed lymphoma after using glyphosate on the job was awarded $289 million by a jury in San Francisco. The plaintiff, 46 year-old DeWayne Johnson, accused Monsanto of intentionally failing to warn about the risk of cancer.
