What is the Problem?
Gordon’s Pondmaster® Surface & Shoreline Herbicide contains 18% glyphosate mixed with an aquatic surfactant. In 2015, glyphosate was classified as a “probable human carcinogen” (probably causes cancer in people) by the World Health Organization cancer-research agency. The conclusions were based on studies showing higher rates of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma among people who were exposed to glyphosate.
What is Pondmaster?
Pondmaster® Aquatic Herbicide is a chemical that kills many types of underwater and floating aquatic plants on shorelines or the surface. It contains glyphosate, the same active ingredient as Roundup® weed-killer. Pondmaster is advertised to control aquatic weeds such as hydrilla, water hyacinth, cattails, and more. It is used in slow-moving bodies of water, such as fish ponds.
What is Lymphoma?
Lymphoma is a cancer that starts in blood cells called lymphocytes. These cells are part of the body’s immune system. Lymphoma occurs when cancerous lymphocytes grow uncontrollably. They crowd out healthy lymphocytes, reducing the body’s ability to fight off infections.

Pondmaster Lawsuit
Monsanto and other manufacturers are facing thousands of lawsuits from people who used Roundup and other glyphosate-based herbicides before they developed non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. These lawsuits accuse Monsanto of failing to warn about the risk of cancer, despite evidence linking glyphosate and cancer since the 1970s.
Glyphosate Class Action Lawsuit
Instead of a class action lawsuit, most Roundup lawsuits are individual cases in a federal Multi-District Litigation (MDL No. 2741 — U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
